A major mining facility in Eastern Saudi Arabia required a temporary desalination solution to address reduced efficiency of its existing thermal desalination units and meet increased process water demand. An initial capacity of 4,800 m³/day was deployed to provide desalinated water for process applications, ensuring uninterrupted mining operations.

Veolia deployed the assets within 2 months with complete scope of supply including storage tanks, chemicals dosing skids. Diesel Generators (DG) sets and all other electro mechanical accessories with full integration.

The deployment included:

- **6 Multimedia Filters (MMF):** To effectively reduce suspended solids and provide a consistent SDI < 3 for the water feeding into the reverse osmosis system to ensure optimal performance.
- **8 Seawater Reverse Osmosis units (SWRO):** To produce pure water from the salt solution through a membrane into a higher concentrated saline solution.
- **2 Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis units (BWRO):** To remove dissolved salts and other impurities from brackish water, producing potable or industrial-grade water.
- Required pump & **Clean-in-Place (CIP) skids**
- **24/7** operational support
